Truth And Rights And Brandi Milne

I have a feature with TRUTH AND RIGHTS online magazine up as we speak! They're facing their spotlight on my work from my most recent solo show Run Rabbit Run in June at Thinkspace Gallery. The foreword kinda caught me off-guard a bit - when we were doing the interview back in May, I let them know that my works for the show were pained by having lost my mom prior to creating them. When they called me for a chat, they let me know that they were all pretty touched by the story, and that knowing about it gave the paintings a completely different feel in their eyes. I kinda just shrugged it off, thinking they were just trying to be nice or something, like most people are want to do. But reading what they wrote, it touched me, for real. I appreciate when people surprise me by their sincerity and ... i don't know, their honest involvement and support. Why am I always surprised by that in people? Why does it surprise me when I realize someone WAS listening, or DID pay attention? Well, in any regard, I thank Truth And Rights, the people who really do FEEL for what they're speaking and whom they're speaking about. Go check em out, they have a whole lot of light to shed!

I really enjoyed the article. I especially liked that you mentioned that the books you painted on had belonged to your mother. When I went to the exhibit I was really curious about where all the books had come from (especially since they were some of my favorite pieces) and so that was a nice thing to learn :)
