Doe-eyed girls in pink dresses, animated deserts, bubbly cartoon characters – at first blush these qualities seem to define the work contained in EdgyCute. But a closer look reveals the dead rat on a plate, lurking skeletons, the crying birdhouse; there is nothing sugary-sweet about those cupcakes and Pinocchio will use that revolver he’s holding.
Harry Saylor, owner of Orbit Gallery, has assembled a motley band of artists that dwell in the nether regions of our imaginations where malevolence and immorality transmogrify purity and naivety, breeding the EdgyCute aesthetic. While the work of these 47 artists varies greatly, it all strikes irresistible poses that have found their ways into museums and galleries, marketing campaigns and our dreams.

Harry Saylor called me up one day (as I was shopping) and asked if I would like to be included in this fine project. We talked for a bit, he's such a great guy, and that was that! I sent him a wealth of images like he asked and then I painted this piece specifically for the book (and Book Release Show). I can't wait to receive my very own copy in the mail to see all the goodies and talent tucked sweetly between the pages! Get your copy of Edgy Cute HERE and enjoy it everyday thereafter!!
Thank you to Mr. Harry Saylor, for being so flippin cool, and for including me amongst such great artists!! You really are the 'guru' of everything POP! Art!!
