We have an on-going joke in our family that MY presents are not allowed to be put out under the tree prior to Christmas. I may or may not be found guilty of unwrapping my presents early and then re-wrapping them to discover the secrets inside, LOL! I do believe I confessed to this, but only as an adult :)

My fondest memories of Christmas are from the days back when I grew up with my parents. My mom spent so much time and put so much effort into always finding new crafts for us to do, new goodies for us to try baking, etc. The house would be covered from head to toe in our crafted treats, (and I believe the Christmas tree continues to be to this day!). I hope that if I decide to have children some day I can dedicate just as much time to them enjoying this time of year as she did!

I remember one christmas going to sleep with my stocking on my bed and when I woke up my stocking had gone and been replaced with one of my sisters socks!...Inside was the usual apple and orange and I got a cute little reindeer teddy which is roaming about the house somewhere!...

One Christmas while my father was away shopping around his inventions for prospective buyers, he found the most peculiar creature in Chinatown. It came with a small set of instructions the first of which was broken by my friend Corey when he accidentally spilled water on it. To my surprise it multiplied into 5 new little creatures, one of which came with a Mohawk and a bad attitude. The 5 new creatures tricked me into breaking the 2nd rule which then changed them from cute cuddly little fur balls into mean, ugly, green monsters which took my small town over. Fortunately, I was able to lure then into a showing of "Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs" and blow up the entire theater. To my surprise the leader with the rad Mohawk got away, but my pet was able to kill it by breaking the 3rd and final rule; exposing it to sunlight.

Needless to say I had to give it back cuz I wasn't ready for the responsibility of owning a Mogwai, but at least I got to say goodbye to my little pet Gizmo.

Even though I have been an artist and free-thinker since very young, I was a serious and logical child. The idea of Santa Claus and all his magical powers made me curious as to how it all really worked. My friends swore up and down that Santa was the real deal, but I was determined to figure it out.
Sooo.. one Autumn I got the idea to snip a little corner piece off of every roll of gift wrap in my Mom's closet and save it until Christmas to see if the wrapping paper matched Santa's. I hid the clippings well so no one would catch me in my experiment...

As you can probably guess- the wrapping paper matched, and I was proud I figured it out, but bummed cause I discovered my Mom's secret.
I'm now in my late 20's and still have not told my Mom I knew what I knew. Haha.. she'd feel so disappointed!!!

One of my favorite Christmas memories is a new one that was just made last year. My boyfriend and I decided to bake big glass jars of cookies + candies as presents for our families, and it was so much fun doing all the Christmas baking! I can't wait to do it again this year, to send off in boxes to friends across the world.

My favorite Christmas memories are from when I was a kid. Every Christmas all the grandmas, grandpas, aunts and uncles would all come over for our Christmas eve spread. My Dad and Mom would spend the whole day making yummy things to eat and that night we would all eat and laugh and tell Christmas stories. Still wish we all lived close enough to celebrate this way.

I am one of seven children in my family. We're between the ages of 17 and 29. We all LOVE to buy each other Christmas gifts and last year my mom was getting upset that we were spending so much money on each other. When we were all done unwrapping gifts, she said "You guys shouldn't be buying so much for each other! Next year we are going to draw names." All at once my five brothers our sister and I said "NO!!!" Our mother never mentioned it again.

Hey Brandi! I have another Christmas memory I was reminiscing about today! I was about ten years old and we decided to spend the week of Christmas at my uncle's house. Since he lived about an hour away, we had to take our two dogs and cat with us. We kept the dogs pinned up in the garage and kitchen most of the time but the cat was free to roam the entire house. So my cat, Puddie, seems to be quite attracted to sparkly Christmas ornaments because he ended up tearing my uncle's tree down trying to get to one. But, the best part was that when my uncle found his poor trodden down tree he shouted "MY BALLS!" (He had just bought brand new, expensive Christmas "ball" ornaments for the tree). I still crack up every time I think about it!

my favourite christmas memory is when I woke up and found my stocking was empty so i went into my parents room to tell them santa hadn't given me any presents that year! When i got back to my own room the stocking was full! Probably why I still belived in Santa for so many years after that! Also fairylights and snowflakes and angels and sequins on the table!

My favorite memory of the Christmas season is without a doubt this year... My wife is being induced on Dec 21. and we will finally get to meet our son- Liam Knox!
We have enjoyed every second of the pregnancy, and everything has only gotten better and better as we quickly approach Chrismas.
Merry Christmas Brandi, and happy new year!

One more memory for the list. Last year my boyfriends grandparents left to spend Christmas in Hawaii and since my parents live in New Mexico we spent Christmas alone. So instead of decorating a tree at his grandparents house, we put up a live one in our apartment. I made all the ornaments for the tree out of felt, bunnys, bears etc, as well as our stockings, and extras for our cats. It was great fun. Unfortunetly our new apartment is to small for that this year, but over the weekend I helped his grandma decorate the house, so that was a small condolence for the lack of our own this time around.
