ROWDY in Tattooville

Another year has gone by for Baby Tattooville - making this the fifth annual! Bob Self (of Baby Tattoo Books) celebrated by featuring 30 artists instead of the usual 10 - 12 he's done each year - I was stoked to be among them...

Before arriving at the Mission Inn in Riverside, I packed up the 50+ small prints I made for the giveaway bags each payed attendee receives at the end of the event on Sunday. I look forward to the giveaway bags because 1.) I love free stuff myself and 2.) It's a great excuse to work on something Halloween themed which I lovelovelove!

The weekend kicks off with the welcome panel, (which I get real shy about) and since this year there was 30 of us - there was a back row which I found much more comfortable. This was my view...

(I know this is a smaller image, but I couldn't resist Lola's happiest face!)

From there, the artists signed official business and prints before everyone went on to celebrate the best way they know how! This event isn't strictly supervised or spent quietly sipping wine - everyone that's involved get's to spend it in whatever way they wish. (A "Secret Society" should lend itself some secrets now and then, right?) That's just part of the genius that brings everyone back each year i think...

(Lola teamed up with Pressure Prints for to make the lovely little tags this year!)

Myself and Miss Amy Sol signing...

Luke Chueh...

Lola, me and Amy still signing...

Cutest Tara McPherson...

(OH! There's the "Cupcake Version" of my vinyl figure Bunny Ride, Go! {in white!} This version will be available NOVEMBER!! I'll keep you posted, until then, the original color version could be nabbed up HERE at 3D Retro)

And my contributions to the pop-up store.

Bob Self with two of the 50 circus punks that were created over the weekend...

The Mission Inn is just spectacular...

Miss Mindy, Rick O'Brien and Travis Louie

Lola, Johnny KMNDZ Rodriquez and Miss Mindy making Circus Punks...

Hannah Aitchison with her lemon cupcake...

...the secret catacombs was REAL CREEPY! But one of my favorite times that weekend.

The art jam continued throughout the weekend..

It's beginning stages...

And the final result.

All the artists that put their two cents into the artjam...

All three days are always such a blur - it goes by way too fast. But once again Bob Self is the man to thank for such a spectacular event. Much Much Much thanks to him AND all his hard working elves that weave together a wonderful weekend that is Baby Tattooville. Countdown to next year begins...
