The Secret World Of Brandi Milne By Bobby Hundreds
A while back I had a visit in my studio with Bobby Kim. You may know him as Bobby Hundreds, as in co-founder of The Hundreds. I was in the final throes of painting for my show when he was scheduled to come over - I had 5 small paintings to go that I hadn't even started yet, 3 large to medium pieces that needed finishing and only a few short weeks til my deadline. I wasn't particularly prepared to be interviewed about my work for my upcoming show - in fact I see it a bit like a day that you've got all kinds of dirty dishes in the sink, piles of bills and junk mail strewn across every table top, cats barfing on every counter, dogs crying, babies barking, hill billies burping, and laundry piled up past the ceiling. I knew he was coming to see my work and ask a few questions - the house was clean but my head felt like chaos.
As soon as Bobby walked in, he was quietly gathering information. He was gone an hour later (busy bee that he is) but somewhere in that hour he and I had become friends forever. Reading what he wrote about our exchange that had been so brief says a lot about him and his natural ability to make such honest connections to people in this world - and that's exactly what he does. I'm happy to know such a kind, intelligent, thoughtful, insightful, respectful, (the list can go on) hard working human being. Bobby Kim is a righteous dude. Here's what he wrote:

Here Inside My Broken Heart, Eve
On the Eve of my show "Here Inside My Broken Heart", there are only a few last minute things that need my attention regarding the show. After nearly 2 years of working on the paintings for the exhibit, it's an odd feeling being finished with my end of the story - and "sitting back" as the wonderful staff at my gallery (COREY HELFORD GALLERY) take it from here. {The space is big and beautiful, address: 10000 Culver Blvd, Culver City CA 90232 FREE PARKING at City Hall 9770 Culver Blvd}
I finished the works 2 weeks ahead of time so that we can offer a show catalog at the opening (AND I LOVE IT!!) which in turn gave me two weeks for readying (with gallery space details, framing, prints, press - as well as emotions that deserve attention) at a pretty leisure, nice pace. This little margin before a big show has in past years been filled to the brim with worry, stress, daily freak-outs, nightly night terrors and nightmares. There hasn't been any such thing. {Catalog includes images of all 13 new paintings on exhibit, limited edition of only 100pcs}
I am truly grateful for all the love and support and encouragement and HARD WORK I've been receiving over the last few weeks (and few months). I feel very loved and supported which means a great deal to me. {"Broken" in his backstage bubble wrap from the framers, waiting to be hung}
Thank you, thank you, you kind beautiful people out in the world, I wish you all my very best in your daily lives, loves, challenges and accomplishments! {"So That My Eyes Might See" and "Long After This" also in their backstage bubble wrap waiting to be hung}

Lowbrow Literati Extensive Interview
It was about a year ago when I was asked to do an extensive interview with LOWBROW LITERATI
- an art fan and collector that I had known since 2008. I'd done interviews before this - have had numerous features in magazines and articles online throughout the 10 years I've been working as a professional artist. While those interviews and articles have covered my artwork and inspirations pretty well, I was humbled by the lowbrow Literati's (Fritz Costa) interest in digging through and documenting the events and what not that had lead up to my career in art and gallery exhibitions. (Photo by the lovely and talented VICTORIA LARA)
And so I met up with Fritz at a coffee shop near me, where we talked and talked for hours as he recorded the conversation and drew out a timeline there at our table. And here now a year later, a LOWBROW LITERATI is upon us! Parts 1-3 have been posted, the other 2 parts will unfold by the end of the week!
Just want to thank you Fritz for taking the time and making the effort (on your own time) to document the why's and how's of the artists you admire. I look forward to many more interviews with you and so many brilliantly creative people!!
