Let Me Introduce You...
...to "Bunny Ride, Go!!" my very first vinyl art figure by 3D Retro (sculpted by October Toys)!! The big release is at San Diego Comic Con at the end of this month - I'm so excited I can't sit still!!
Bunny Ride, Go has been in the works for a while now, it was really hard to keep it a secret! She's designed from a painting of mine titled Darkness Keeps A Steady Hold (above). Bringing her to life was really fun! Since the whole process was new to me, I really put my faith in 3D Retro and October Toys and I'm BEYOND THRILLED with the outcome!!
I can't get over the glossy bright candy-colors - it stayed so true to my work. And wait til you guys see the grin on the Bunny Ride...
See??? His teeth drive me insane!! :D (This is an Instagram shot, with a filter so the color is a bit faded in this image)
Each figure comes with a tiny strawberry print (that makes me squeal!) to boot!!
There's only 100 pieces, so seriously - get em while they're hot!!!

I'll be there signing Saturday at 1:00pm only, so come on by and squeal with me!!

And Such Is Life
As I mentioned in my last post, the Corey Helford Gallery turns 5 years old this month. To celebrate (as only the CHG does), they're putting on the MOST FABULOUS group show of the year. Here is my painting titled "And Such Is Life", it's acrylic on wood and measures 40"x27" (inside frame).
This piece represents for me not only a turning point in my work, but the representation of growth and support I have drawn from my time with the Corey Helford Gallery. The last five years have taken me to new places, brought me close to new friends, and blossomed my inspiration for creating in a way I could have never dreamed. This piece embodies a swirl of life and love in my heart that I have felt in these experiences, and I am extremely proud of what it is.
I thank the Corey Helford Gallery for all they have done not only for me, but for my contemporaries, my friends, and the art community. I am humbled and more so, proud to be part of their family.
Show opens Friday, July 1st at the COREY HELFORD GALLERY in Culver City. This is gonna be BIG ~ if you can, come on by for the five year festivities!!

Instagram And Corey Helford Goodies
(a bit blurry, but love)
I've fallen in love with Instagram just recently (like I just joined this week). I was hesitant at first - knowing that the time I spend on my IPhone (on Twitter and Facebook and blogs and emails and Solitaire) is increasingly cutting into the time I spend looking at a real persons face as they talk to me! Buuuut....
...if there's one thing I love about all this social networking in my face - it's photo sharing (honestly, that's the main reason I have this blog!). I love photos, and even moreso - I love the look of old photos. ...Enter Instagram.
(My Baron Of The Deep painting for Sea No Evil June 25th)
I love love love it, and would seriously upload millions of photos a day, if I wanted to neglect all my responsibilities and never paint/draw ever again...
(Fist Of The North Star, myself and Greg Craola Simkins in Montreal for Greg's and Lola's Escape With Me show)
So if you yourself are sharing your life thru gloriously vintage-esque photos, find me and say Good Day!! *_* ~~~~~
And I'm also sooooo excited to finally mention this puppy:
"Corey Helford Gallery is celebrating its 5th anniversary with "Zero To Sixty", a gala group exhibition featuring new works from artists we love, including those who have been with us from the beginning of these meteoric five years - Natalia Fabia, Sylvia Ji, Eric Joyner, David Stoupakis, Buff Monster, Chris Anthony, Joshua Petker, Carlos Ramos, Sarah Folkman, Michael Mararian, Van Arno, Brandi Milne, Korin Faught - and artists who have more recently joined our roster - D*Face, Josh Agle (Shag), Ron English, Ray Caesar, Nick Walker, Kukula, Lola, Mia, Nouar, Sas and Colin Christian, Natalie Shau, Tom Bagshaw, Adam Wallacavage, Amy Sol - and also works from artists we just love, such as Todd Schorr, Joe Sorren, Gary Baseman, Gary Taxali, Greg Simkins, Kazuki Takamatsu, Kent Williams, Kinsey, Eine, Tokidoki, Hush and many more.
In the tradition of Charity By Numbers, Literartistry, Clowns!, Multiplanes and Bristol Museum's "Art From the New World", this collection of works is the best from the best artists of the New Contemporary Fine Art Movement. We are very proud and honored to have this amazing new show represent what we've tried to accomplish in the last five years - the elevation in a fine art setting of what we've always believed would be, and is now emerging as, a dominant genre in contemporary art. From the toy stores and crowded storefronts to Art Basel and MOCA, these artists have shunned the traditional paths to recognition and are moving directly into museums and the homes of the world's most important art collectors. We hope you'll join us. If you can't, advance online previews can be requested at jch@coreyhelfordgallery.com. Thank you for all your support of the gallery and our artists. Best, Jan Corey Helford"
There you have it...I'll be posting images of my painting (that SERIOUSLY kicked my butt) for the show next week. I can't tell you how excited I am for this one!!!!

Sea Shepherd's Mission Statement
Established in 1977, Sea Shepherd Conservation Society (SSCS) is an international non-profit, marine wildlife conservation organization. Our mission is to end the destruction of habitat and slaughter of wildlife in the world's oceans in order to conserve and protect ecosystems and species.
Sea Shepherd uses innovative direct-action tactics to investigate, document, and take action when necessary to expose and confront illegal activities on the high seas. By safeguarding the biodiversity of our delicately-balanced ocean ecosystems, Sea Shepherd works to ensure their survival for future generations.
MORE INFO HERE
Celebrating our 5th Year, Sea No Evil will come back to the Riverside Municipal Auditorium for one night only on Saturday June 25th, 2011. Featuring Captain Paul Watson and the crew featured on the popular Animal Planet show, “Whale Wars”.
Over 100 artists have been confirmed for the show including:
Jeff Soto, Shepherd Fairey, Kinsey, Lola, Gary Baseman, Korin Faught, Mark Dean Veca, Vince Chan, Ryan Jacob Smith, Gretchen Ryan, Renee Lawter, Kevin Christy, The Clayton Brothers, Aunia Kahn, Mike Ski, Tara McPherson, Camille Rose Garcia, Kev Munday, Angie Clayton, Freida Gossett, Martha Rich, Michelle Valigura, Maya Hayuk, Chris Anthony, Chivo, Brandi Milne, Eric White and Joshua M. Smith/Hydro74.
When I heard the story of what Sea Shepherd is all about, I was floored at the compassion of those people who make it their life to protect and defend the ocean's innocent. Baron Of The Deep is my depiction of that compassion - of people that know a life dedicated to selflessness. I'm blown away by it, and so greatful to have had a chance to work on a piece on their behalf. See my painting in person (always much better than on your computer) along with SO MANY other great artists supporting Sea Shepherd!
