Something Wicked This Way Comes!!

Hip HIp for HALLOWEEN!! I've released my second annual Halloween Print, "Something Wicked" and it's AVAILABLE NOW!! It's limited edition, signed and numbered on 100% cotton acid free paper and measures 11.5"x11" I'm so excited about this one, I can harldly contain myself!! For the FIRST 20 BUYERS, there will be a FREE mini print to go along with it!

Here he is, the freebie! He measures 6"x4" and like I said, he's free to the first 20 buyers.

He'll be placed in these super cute trick or treat bags for your eye candied pleasure!

The image of the black bird head was one of my night terrors a while back. This was crouching over by my dresser in the middle of the night - not moving...just crouching and creeping me out. I woke up my husband and he didn't believe me! It made me even more scared cuz now the creeper knew I was alone. eeeps!! So now, you can have your very own crouched creeper from Something Wicked!! sweeet!!

And onto other exciting news, BABY TATTOOVILLE is happening this coming Friday - Sunday!!! I'm so excited, so many flippin unbelievable artists will be attending, I'm talking the likes of Liz McGrath, Audrey Kawasaki, Miss Mindy, Travis Louie and Greg "Craola" Simkins just to name a few!! These talents will be "hosting" the event this year, live painting, sketching, conversing, eating, drinking and being merry! It's an all-out art social extravaganza - for the artist and the art lover.

I love it because it's so different from your gallery show, where you have a crowd of people you're not sure who's who, and you have a good 3 minutes to "get to know" eachother. This event allows everyone a unique opportunity to be yourself and to really get to know whomever you like in a crazy, open, friendly, supportive atmosphere. I met some of my very favorite people in the art world there last year, and I'm ever grateful to have had that experience with them and consider them real friends.

Before the event last year, I was a wreck. I was so nervous, not knowing what to expect and fearing the worst. I thought it would be awkward and super structured and lonely in a crowd of strangers. ONCE I GOT THERE, I was able to be me. To be just me. Brandi Milne, shy, happy, weird, art freaker. The way it's set up, (by the genius mind behind the madness, Mr. Robert Self of Baby Tattoo Books) is so wonderfully casual and friendly, it works to perfection. Everyone is there to have a great relaxed weekend and enjoy eachother's fingerprint on the world. Seriously.

PLUS, people, it's held at the Riverside Mission Inn, in ALL it's old-world charm, mystery and beauty! I'm so looking forward to this place, it's not even funny! I'll be taking loads of pictures, and you betcher butt I'll be posting and blabbing soon after!

left to right: OG sketch Dave Cooper, OG sketch Ana Bagayan, OG sketch Glenn Barr

There's only 4 spots left for attendees, there were only 45 offered. This event is truly amazing in EVERY ASPECT. Believe me, I get no reward for bragging it up, it's TRULY AMAZING. The giveaway bag on Sunday - chalk full of one-of-a-freakin-kind originals, prints, toys and what-nots is worth every penny (and then some!) that the attendees put into their spot. Walking away from that experience with a bag full of serious loot makes you feel like you just robbed Baby Tattoo Blind!

My giveaway for this year is a Fine Art Print of my piece "The Burden Of Cake". There's 50 pieces signed and numbered exclusively for the Baby Tattooville attendees this year. I'm not quite finished cutting all the pieces out (by hand!) and wrapping em up just so.

Also on the agenda for the event is the museum show on Saturday night. This is a sneaky peek of my piece - speaking of, I gotta get to work!! Hope you guys have a great week! Mine's gonna kick my butt.

Misha/Brandi Arm Candy!!

Wooooooot!! My friend over at So Good For Bunnies blog has done something I'm stoked on. She's having my piece "Maniac On Sugar Island" tattooed on her arm, BUT she's doing it in style...Misha (painter/tattoo artist extraordinaire!) is doing the job!! I'm so flattered and so thrilled that it's in Misha's more than capable hands - I'm excited to see it finished!!

Lookit! I love this picture, it whispers a million things to me!

There's no feeling like someone getting your work embedded into their skin for life. I love you!!

Go check out So Good For Bunnies, it's freaky, full of beautiful images with whips, goth circus' and rubber aprons.

**Also, I did a little interview over at UPFRONT ONLINE. Go take a look~see, find out about my love for underwear, smoking with my foot and men in white wigs!!

***Watch for one special Halloween Print release (and GIVEAWAY to the first 20 buyers!) comin your way!! eeeeeeks!!

Don't You Know It's That Time Of Year

I decorated for Halloween!!

The place is festive and spooky and fun!

The year we got married, we moved in mid August, and decorated for Halloween September first. We were so excited!

A lot of our decorations I picked up at Michaels or Joanne's, they usually have at least a few pieces each year that rule. I also go to like TJ Maxx or Marshals for this kind of thing, sometimes they've got something awesome.

This is one of the most ridiculously gorgeous decorations we have - they were the hanging displays at Target a few years ago, and since I worked there for most of my life, thems mines now!

There's three here, but we also have a bear head too. The gross thing is is that we also had each piece in plastic like masks in this same size...we straight threw them away because they got bent up a little...I'm gonna go throw up.

Last year, I found the motherload. There's the most BRILLIANT shop in Costa Mesa called PARIS TO THE MOON, it's my most favoritest shop I've ever been to, you really must visit in your life time. I'm serious. They have so much goodnes, I can't even describe it! They had a second shop last year with ONLY HALLOWEEN items that blew my hair off. I have so much stuff from there I leave up all year long cuz it's so rad. They've been featured in a few magazines - the next time I go I'm going to post pictures and blab on and on about them...just wait, yule see.

Is everybody all ready to decorate?? I'd love to see what everyone else has, please post!! Now I'm off to work on some special Halloween treats!! Tomorrows Friday!!

Lemme See Your Pretty Little Smile

This Sunday, weeee! I went to the Antique Mall out in Long Beach with two fancy redheaded ladies that I like a lot. Miss Mindy and Brandy came all the way out from Pasadena to search in the sun for bargains and beef cakes. (not really beef cakes but bargains, yes) Here is a baby with a mustache?

Ready to dig with big hats, big sunglasses and big smiles! We tore up the place laughing and teasing and carrying on like children. You know when you meet someone, and you just immediately get along and feel comfortable and spritely? This is how I feel with these two beauts. They're the perfect amount of ridiculous.

What in the world is this?

They got some outfits in the shade - I think we might have been here for an hour and we had to peeeel ourselves away. I love this picture, cus no one knows what's going on.

Here's the freakiest baby.

Mindy was able to nab some classic antique frames for her show next year (which includes her sister!) and she was insane with delight! I used to have a wig just like her real hair - I wish I still did.

A halloween tin cat with movable bits. I would've bot this sucker, but I didn't.

Brandy gives us one sassy smile with candy glasses in red. Someone shoulda bot those...

This was definately the best antique swapmeet mall thingy I've ever been to. They had such good finds, at mostly reasonable prices. Which almost never happens. We didn't even get down 2 whole isles - we've gotta go back.

Halloween boxes from the 40's were the envy of all the crowd.

We went to In N Out afterwards cus we were terribly emaciated after all the shopping going on. Here Mindy sports her very best do rag in the El Bee. Shakes, fries, cokes, burgers and these two gems, it was a great day.

I got some scarves which were super cute.

A spooky black cat salt and pepper shaker with no match. You can see a paper mache owl from Miss Johanna Parker in the back ground.

And this black cat ash tray! I got something else, but I can't post it cus it's a Christmas prize for a man with a curly wig. But I will definately be back next month, and the month after that, and the month after that...and you betcher bottom dollar I'll be seeing those redheaded girls again soon!

Yippee In The Mail!!

So the other day wasn't the best day ever. It was long, I was tired, I was enraged and I hated it. So when I finally got home (late), there were some packages for me in the mail!! weeeeee! My mood changed immediately, and I was beaming with glee to the ends of the earth!!

A Circus Box with my name on it from England??? Chim Chim Chiree!! A new friend sent over a package that she put together for me, and it was the sweetest little circus I've ever been to!!

Look inside - all this!! She made a little flea circus with tiny posters, baby little candies that she calls Bulls Eyes? A ticket (to the circus), a hand sewn lamb for me to paint, a theomascope? I don't know what it's called, but it's a bird in a cage when you twirl the string, you know what I mean! Inside the box was decorated with Camille R. Garcia images and Tim Walker, it must've taken her a WHILE to make, it's insane. And then this:

Inside the baby matchbox was a flipping complete flea circus!!! eeeee!

And from another friend of mine came two round pillows from Urban Outfitters from my previous wishlist post! Whaaat?? I was blown away! Wishlists were for oblivion, but not in this case! She's the one that sent me the box full of goodies that I had posted a while back. That owl pillow came from her back then too. We were in a battle of send offs and as far as I'm concerned, she wins everytime! I would hate to be in an argument with her, I can already see she'd kick my butt.

With all the excitement, I whipped up some caramel apples...

(You can see one of my new pillows on the couch in the background, the other one is happily settled under my husband's cheek! HA!) The apples were a nightmare. I went nuts when I was trying to eat it. It was like when you try on a shirt that's 15 sizes too small for you, but somehow you got it on, and YOU"RE STUCK. TRAPPED. And that adrenaline and panic that consumes you when you're trying to get out of it? Do you know the feeling? Well, that's how my teeth felt when I was trying to eat a bite of this dasterdly doofus. I was so mad!!!

I chucked it (and the rest of em) into the garbage with grit teeth and so much hate and anger - what the hells bells??!! My husband wanted to feed em to some people at work, but I say no. No one deserves that.

*Special kisses and slapping backs go out to Emma and Charity for their kindness and happy boxes through the mail when I was down and out. I love you! (as said by Tom Hanks in Sleepless In Seattle to his kids as he's out the door)

*And don't ever make caramel apples, they'll kill you.
